Hour Exchange Portland

We are a community network of neighbors helping neighbors. Members share their talents and services, record their hours, then 'spend' them later on services they want. Everyone's hours are equal. This is not barter. These are friendly, neighborly favors. Together we are restoring our local community currency based on relationships and time.

At Hour Exchange Portland we believe that Black Lives Matter. We stand in solidarity with communities of color across the state and the country who are actively working to dismantle systemic racism and white supremacist culture.

Member Handbook

Review the HXP Member Handbook and Policy Guide. In this guide you will find information on how to get started and tips on how to have the most rewarding experience. Everyone's time has equal value. Timebanking is not barter. The hours you earn are backed by a moral obligation to reciprocity (not legally binding).
